About Cedric Okiorina

If there’s one person who epitomises everything I love about food and travel, it’s the late, great chef and travel documentarian, Anthony Bourdain. In fact, there’s one quote from the straight-talking Bourdain that has stayed with me no matter how many kitchens i’ve visited around the globe:

“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life – and travel – leaves marks on you.”

From the moment I left home to explore the fascinating sights and flavours found in the world’s culinary hotspots, I’ve experienced how different cultures leave subtle impressions on both my craft and appreciation for the world.

What I Truly Believe In

Delicious food has remained a vital part of my life from as far back as I can remember, with the vibrant cultures and culinary institutions that I’ve been fortunate enough to spend time gradually seeping into my gastronomy.

As I sincerely believe that the sharing of food with friends, family and strangers has the power to bring people together, the delightful dishes I create from an eclectic range of cuisines instil this passionate philosophy.

Whether you’re talking about the sweet and spicy dishes of Morocco or the fine-dining culture that has made French cuisine such a staple around the globe, I, chef Cedric Okiorina, have come to understand how food is a true reflection of the society it emerged from.

With this personal blog dedicated to my world-class cooking talents, and my incredible enthusiasm for great tasting food, it won’t take long to realise how each of my dishes captures my life’s journey without pretension or pomp.

As Bourdain so rightfully said: “Good food is very often, even most often, simple food.”
