It doesn\u2019t matter where you go in the world, it won\u2019t take much effort to find restaurants and shops selling delicious halal meat products. Although the vast majority of foods we eat every day are already halal, meat needs to be prepared in a respectful way to be considered halal. While halal cuisine is typically associated with Muslims and religious faith, these dietary standards can also be followed by those who want the animal products they consume to be treated with the utmost respect.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Having visited many countries where halal food<\/a> is widespread, one of my favourite dishes is chicken biryani. With the origins of this hugely popular dish believed to have started in Persia hundreds of years ago, there\u2019s a hint in the name with \u2018biryani\u2019 derived from the Persian words birian \u2013 meaning \u2018fried before cooking\u2019 \u2013 and birinj for \u2018rice\u2019. While numerous legends explain how the dish eventually made its way to India, all I know is that it tastes amazing.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n
